Kèr Flíhmivedà (Flíhmi /ˈvedə/ [effect] [spell (of magic)]) is a subtropical Town located in the Vātuchàjù Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Kèr Flíhmivedà is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Flíhmivedà was founded by Fyëme Pritchards, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Flíhmivedà has a yearly average temperature of 17°C (62°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 21°C (69°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 13°C (55°F). Kèr Flíhmivedà receives an average of 241 cm/y (94 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Kèr Flíhmivedà covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 2558 m (8392 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Flíhmivedà was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1461, by Fyëme Pritchards. The establishment of Kèr Flíhmivedà was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Kèr Flíhmivedà's construction back out of the project. Fyëme Pritchards pushed on reguardles, and Kèr Flíhmivedà was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Kèr Flíhmivedà was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Flíhmivedà is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Flíhmivedà is buildings are arranged arround a network of spacious packed earth streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. The robustly designed timber walls have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look around Kèr Flíhmivedà is like a look into a broken heart. There is no planning, no organization. Everyone here clearly goes about their own thing with little thought to anyone around them who isn’t selling something they need. It’s not malicious. Heads are hung. Eyes are empty. Something truly horrible happened here once upon a time and the town never healed.

Cultural Notes

The locals are convinced that there is some terrible threat against them working from within their society. It may be a matter of dark sorcerers, foreign spies, traitorous neighbors, shape shifting monsters, or some other hidden evil. This evil may be a recent fear, or it may be an inherited peril they’ve always had to guard against. The danger itself may or may not exist, or if it exists it may not justify the steps being taken.

Kèr Flíhmivedà's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls. This design ethos extended to re-imagining earlier styles of structure to create them anew, with a similar overall look and feel to one another..

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Kèr Flíhmivedà was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Kèr Flíhmivedà lost 243 people, 343 livestock, and 56 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 166, when members of Kèr Flíhmivedà's militia enacted an operation to patrol a specific area to dissuade the enemy from their current activities. The operation was complicated by an outbreak of plague which struck the ranks, killing many and laying low many more. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the strategic location, which ended in a stalemate for Kèr Flíhmivedà's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Kèr Flíhmivedà's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
